Shipping Information For Insect Specimens (USA)

Typically shipping and handling charges for shipments of insect specimens are $9.95 when mailed within the USA. Your order will be carefully packaged for safe transit shipped US Post Office Priority Airmail. Shipping may also increase for very valuable species sent by registered mail, for quantity orders, and for heavier supplies. Please allow 7 to 10 days for delivery.

Shipping Information For Overseas and Canadian Clients

The US Wildlife Department and International Law govern the export of all insect shipments. We must add approximately $250.00 fee to your order for the mandatory inspection and an export document and shipping with DHL. (Cites species are any Ornithoptera, Troides and Trogonoptera butterflies - an additional $100.00 is necessary for Cites permit) There may be a delay of 3-4 weeks to obtain the Cites permit.

Just like stamps and coins, dried insect specimens have quality standards and symbols Quality Codes A1 Specimen is perfect or nearly so and many times captive bred A- Excellent specimen, minor imperfections like antennae break or small chips A2 Usually good color with tears, nicks or other flaws, likely to be repairable 2nd Suitable for reference purpose. Shows wear, tears and or rubs to colors Mint Absolutely Flawless NP Nearly Perfect Sex symbols = Male = Female = Pair Morpho bodies are removed to prevent oils from discoloring and staining wings Antennae are so fragile and may detach during transit and can be easily glued on using Elmer's glue

We have Secure On Line Credit Card Ordering and prefer payment by Visa and Mastercard. Reserved orders can be paid by personal or company check. Sorry no COD's. Institutions may submit formal purchase order with 30 day billing terms.

Returns and Adjustments

Returns are only accepted with prior consent and in compliance with our reshipping instructions. There is a 20% restocking fee when returning dried, unspread specimens. Credit for returned items will be applied to your account for you to use on future purchases. Without exception, we do not accept returns of spread specimens.
